<title><![CDATA[Laboratory Technician - (Westminster, Colorado)]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p class="jobLocation">Req Id:  <span>120746</span></p>Works independently & performs a wide range of medical laboratory tests & procedures to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, & prevention of disease. Has knowledge of & adheres to all related regulatory requirements. Reports to the department or facility Laboratory Clinical Manager.<br/>Essential Functions:<br/>- Performs & reports accurate & timely clinical laboratory tests in various sections of the laboratory<br/>- Maintains accurate documentation in accordance w/ accrediting body & laboratory policy<br/>- Analyzes & appraises lab results relative to each other & to the pertinent QA data<br/>- Solves problems & makes independent decisions<br/>- Assists others w/ more difficult procedures<br/>- Recognizes various age-related needs & provides age appropriate care as indicated<br/>- Trains & orients new employees<br/>- Participates in quality assurance activities<br/>- Performs & documents quality control<br/>- Recognizes & resolves variances from normal<br/>- Documents quality improvement activities according to protocol<br/>- Assists clinicians in resolving quality concerns<br/>- Collaborates w/ supervisor to identify, develop & implement process improvements<br/>- Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration & makes minor repairs to instrumentation<br/>- Performs specimen collection procedures & processes specimens for tracking & transport as needed<br/>- Uses personal protective equipment appropriately & demonstrates safe work practices in accordance w/ laboratory & company policy<br/>- Maintains a clean & safe work environment<br/>- Contributes to a cost-effective laboratory operation & helps maintain an adequate supply inventory<br/>- Assists manager in scheduling as needed<br/>- Participates in interviewing & selecting potential candidates for hiring<br/>- Prepares for & participates in the accrediting body inspection process<br/>- Reviews test results in accordance w/ regulatory guidelines<br/>- Oversees point-of-care testing areas & ensures compliance w/ accrediting agencies<br/>- Uses computer systems as required & according to company & departmental procedures<br/>- Has positive customer interactions & demonstrates good service recovery skills<br/>- Performs other duties as assigned<br/><br><br>Qualifications:<br><br>Basic Qualifications:<br/>- Associate degree & current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician registered w/ or currently eligible for registry w/ the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or its equivalent<br/>- Must obtain certification within 12 months of hire<br/>- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills<br/><br/>Rotate schedule and work weekends. Floats between departments/facilities/location.<br/><br/>Salary Range: $21.06 - $23.93 Hourly<br/>]]></description>
