<description><![CDATA[<p class="jobLocation">Req Id:  <span>174002</span></p>Software Asset Management (SAM) is an integral part of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) organization within the Infrastructure Management Group at KPIT. ITAM is responsible for managing both hardware and software assets owned/ leased by Kaiser Permanente. Software assets include both ISV-owned off-the-shelf products and home-grown applications at Kaiser Permanente.<br/>ITAM has launched a multi-year foundational program to implement foundational capabilities for SAM across the organization. The program is on-track to develop best practices based 'To-Be' SAM processes and create a roadmap for solution implementation by the end of 2012. In 2013, the program is expected to roll-out the SAM capabilities across the organization and operationalize SAM as a key ITAM capability.<br/><br/>The Principal for Software Asset Management (SAM) will be responsible for rolling out the SAM processes and setting up the necessary support structure - both technology and organizational - to effectively manage software assets across the lifecycle, which includes acquisition, policy definition, software tagging, discovery, compliance monitoring, maintenance/ chargeback support and retirement of software assets.<br/><br/>This role will also include day-to-day operational responsibilities relating to software management with the goal of ensuring quality, integrity and usability of software data within the asset management system. In this capacity, the Principal will work with the necessary stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure that necessary processes are being followed and software asset information is being updated into the asset repository in a timely manner.<br/><br/>The Principal will manage a team of ITAM operational staff and possibly contract resources during the implementation of SAM processes in 2013. The HP Claims Sub-Portfolio Principal Solution Design Consultant will be responsible for eliciting requirements and designing the application build of critical claims workflows and associated system design and configuration build. This role will have management responsibility for a team of application specialists and design consultants. Although this is a management position, completing hands on design and build work is required. The ideal candidate will be a thought partner to internal business partners, information technology professionals and vendors. This is a technology position, but requires a strong business-focused background with demonstrated success understanding business process workflows. This position is responsible for partnering with the KPCC IT and business leadership to prepare and review executive governance presentations (using Power Point) to KPCC stakeholders.
