Director Application Deployment Services Systems Integration Pleasanton, CA
This position provides business and technical leadership and direction for the development, implementation, and provision of technical services and operations to support the needs of the overall infrastructure for KP HealthConnect, Kaiser Permanente's primary EMR. The leader will direct productive, timely and quality delivery of programs and services, and ensures systems are supported and available 24x7.
This position will be responsible for leading a various support and operations teams of approximately 100 employees across multiple geographies and collaborating with technical partners and regional stakeholders to drive transformational change and achieve process efficiencies, high product quality, reduced cycle times, and superior customer service in delivering effective end-to-end technical solutions and services.
Additionally, this leader will collaborate with other IMG Systems Integration leaders and application owners to provide support for and ensure alignment with other significant tracks of work, including infrastructure lifecycle management, Disaster Recover, KP Network Strategy, and next generation data centers.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Application Deployment Services within IMG-Systems Integration, the IT leader builds and guides teams that design engineer, develop and execute complex plans and focuses resources on situations requiring intense short-term and/or long-term effort in order to deliver value. Program/project deliverables and timelines will be aggressive and require a sophisticated mix of technology application and organizational change to deliver expected benefits.
Key Responsibilities
To design, operate and support cost-efficient processes for technical operational delivery services for Kaiser Permanente's most critical application, KP HealthConnect.
Lead migration to new technologies, evaluate processing performance related to system utilization and reliability, and forecast financial, physical, and staffing requirements to meet established objective
Oversee and coordinate data operations, business continuity and restoration plans that and implement pre-planned alternative routes/systems to restore service
Implement infrastructure and application lifecycle management processes
Provide innovative and proactive management, including attraction, retention and development of high quality staff
Implement and improve production monitoring strategies and solutions
Provide financial oversight including development and direction of financial objectives, budgets and expenditures
Identify and establish corporate initiatives and strategies to advance technology
Maintain technical expertise and implement new ideas and approaches to achieve service leadership in market
Provide structured technical operational delivery services for 24x7 operations
Interface with and help manage key vendor relationships (e.g. Epic Systems, IBM, HP, Microsoft, EMC)

Implement high quality service oriented technical operational delivery services (eg. Release Management, Change Management, Customer Relationship Management)

Identifying and onboarding well qualified resources in key roles

Leveraging shared services including Finance, Governance and PMO to support the team's delivery focus
Building strongly collaborative relationships with stakeholders and customers.
Provide executive-level leadership and guidance within KPIT in the area of enterprise availability - including maintaining significant technical depth and domain expertise and staying connected to industry trends and forums in a manner that is leveraged within KPIT via your effort to collaboratively synthesize and present technical information supportive of the Infrastructure Program initiative and KP's business objectives.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field or 4 additional years of work experience.
- 10 Years experience successfully leading and managing large enterprise complex IT applications and operations support services teams with in a large fortune 500 mission critical 24/7 environment
- 5-10 Years experience of progressively responsible management experience in the following areas: incident management ,planning, budget/financial management, and staffing.
- Experience managing a team of 50 or more staff members, which includes managing managers.
- Hands on experience managing and integrating COT enterprise applications such as (SAP, ERP,CRM.).
- 5 years of Relationship Management , ability to build consensus and to work through others in achieving desired results and objectives with demonstrated autonomy to work in highly complex, matrix environments with multiple stakeholders and high degree of ambiguity.
- Demonstrated track record of significant accomplishment in a senior leadership role including the successful development and implementation of multi-million dollar programs/projects in complex matrixed organizations with numerous constituents.
- Experience managing a multi-year program of related cross-functional projects is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in interacting and communication with a wide range of individuals (end user, client leaders, IT and Business executives).
- Strong management skills to successfully perform the strategy planning, directing, reporting and administrative responsibilities
- Consistent ability to set and deliver against a work plan in a fast-paced environment, giving attention to detail even under high-pressure situations.
- Ability to build consensus and to work through others in achieving desired results and objectives with demonstrated autonomy to work in highly complex, matrix environments with multiple stakeholders and high degree of ambiguity.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills with demonstrated experience in managing and scheduling multiple engagements and coordinating the activities of various resource pools (vendors and internal team members)
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite or higher applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Microsoft Visio and Project.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems Technology or commensurate degree
- Experience with Epic EMR suite and Inter Systems Cache is strongly preferred
- Healthcare experience is strongly preferred
