Director Community Total Health Operations Oakland, CA


Responsible for developing and implementing the Total Health strategic vision in support of improving members' health and the health of local communities throughout the region. Directs and leads overall resources and actitivities to align efforts with overall organizational strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Acts as regional co-lead on Community Health Initiatives (CHI). Supports senior executives in developing the regional approach and plan for CHI that align in concert with evolving enterprisewide strategies (such as care transformation and growth) and overall organizational community health/total health strategy.
- Consults and guides the service areas on strategic plans and key activities to ensure they align with the regional CHI goals, support high quality execution, and proactively address challenges and opportunites.
- Facilitates peer learning and the promotion of best practices among local leaders.
- Provides supervision to the Community Health Team Program Managers and interns. Coordinates the development and execution of a communications strategy promoting organizational community health efforts.
- Collaborates with regional and local partners in developing and implementing effective strategies for evaluating community health initiatives.
- Partners with peers in developing and monitoring the region's Community health initiative operational budget. Develops financial analysis of overall and regional work stream expenses.
- Coordinates with other departments to optimize alignment with strategy and share viewpoints, expertise and perspectives on community health initiatives.
- Represents organization and community health initiatives in internal and external forums by presenting the organization's community health initiatives or serving as member on select committees/workgroups.
- Conducts assessments on compliance risks. Develops mechanisms for monitoring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Effectively leverages and organizes the organizational financial and talent resources necessary to advance organizationwide progress on the delivery of the social, economic and behavioral components of the total health strategy. Provides expertise and leadership to local areas for the development, implementation and allocation of the Community Health Initaitve projects.


Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum seven (7) years of management or leadership experience in delivery of healthcare, community health or population health improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, business, communications or public policy.
License, Certification, Registration

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in public health, social work, psychology or any related field.
- This position has dual reporting relationships to the SVP/Chief Administrative Office and the VP External & Community Affairs.
