<title><![CDATA[Supervisor Environmental Services - (Honolulu, Hawaii)]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p class="jobLocation">Req Id:  <span>180219</span></p>Oversees activities and staff of environmental services, linen/laundry, mail room, supply delivery, and/or transport departments. Supports hospital and/or peripheral clinics and facilities on maintenance and/or housekeeping and environmental services related issues. Supervises assigned staff.<br/><br/>Essential Functions:<br/>- Monitors, maintains, and controls inventory of supplies and equipment. Creates requisitions for new and replacement supplies. Evaluates new supplies and equipment and recommends products based on technological improvements, upgrade methodology, and/or cost-effectiveness.<br/>- Keeps abreast of clinic activities affecting transport of patients, medical records, lab x-rays, etc., as appropriate.<br/>- Assists in budget preparation. Promotes effective use of resources.<br/>- Prepares, reviews, and monitors daily and weekly assignment schedules to ensure adequate coverage. Ensures adequate and timely services are provided.<br/>- Inspects assigned area regularly. Determines and ensures instructions are properly followed and safety rules observed. As appropriate, ensures infection control and safety policies and procedures are followed. Inspects hospital and clinic premises and equipment.<br/>- Inspects and evaluates equipment and furnishings for unusual and/or unsafe conditions. Initiates work order requisitions for maintenance as needed.<br/>- Instructs personnel in use of new equipment. Provides efficient and effective methods for maintaining medical center and clinics.<br/>- Gathers, compiles, and records data and information for routine or special reports. Maintains employee records.<br/>- Participates in and contributes to programs, committees, or projects designed to improve quality of service and employee productivity.<br/>- As appropriate, monitors and maintains policies and procedures on bio-hazardous waste and destruction of confidential records.<br/>- Hires, trains, supervises, counsels, disciplines, and terminates assigned staff as appropriate.<br/>- Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.<br/><br><br>Qualifications:<br><br>Basic Qualifications:<br/>- Two years environmental services, care delivery, patient transportation, clinic support or business processes experience as related to area of responsibility.<br/>- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field; or equivalent related experience.<br/>- Valid driver's license.<br/>- Demonstrated knowledge of infection control, safety, and security regulations in a healthcare setting.<br/>- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in decision making, customer service, oral communication, problem solving, quality management, results orientation, systems thinking, team building, teamwork, and written communication.<br/> Preferred Qualifications:<br/>- Supervisory/lead or project management experience.<br/>- Teaching and conducting in-services experience.<br/>]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Security Officer - (Wailuku, Hawaii)]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p class="jobLocation">Req Id:  <span>173392</span></p>Under indirect supervision of Watch Commander and/or department supervisor, performs variety of duties to protect against fire and criminal violations to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and employees. Investigates reported incidents and all criminal violations of Kaiser property. Monitors radio, fire alarm system and C.C.T.V.'s at Control Center. Dispatches officers to incidents and makes necessary notifications.<br/><br/>Essential Functions:<br/>- Patrols building, premises, and parking lots of establishment to detect any criminal violations or hazardous conditions.<br/>- Monitors fire alarm system, security alarms and C.C.T.V. at Security Control Center. Dispatches officers to respond to these alarms via radio.<br/>- Responds and stands-by with fire extinguisher at Heli-Pad on all landings and departures on Medi-Vac helicopters.<br/>- Examines all doors, windows, and gates to determine security. Locks and unlocks doors and buildings as scheduled. Allows entry into secured areas by authorized personnel only.<br/>- Detects and reports any unusual conditions, situations or malfunctions affecting safety or fires at Kaiser facilities. Responds to all fire alarms and assists in fire fighting as appropriate, using two radios to assists in communication as necessary. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all emergencies, fires and disasters at Kaiser facilities.<br/>- Raises and lowers flags at front entrance on daily basis.<br/>- Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property and detains personnel for further investigation when necessary.<br/>- Answers questions and gives directions/assistance to visitors/patients upon request.<br/>- Detects and reports any criminal activity or property damage to Security Control Center and submits necessary reports.<br/>- Maintains traffic control in parking lots and Emergency Department area. Issues parking citations to violators.<br/>- Makes recommendations to supervisor on all activities that require changes in policies, procedures and budgetary requests as necessary.<br/>- Maintains good communication with other security personnel, other staff personnel and department heads and units.<br/>- Monitors Watchmen and provides appropriate training and assistance as required.<br><br>Qualifications:<br><br>Basic Qualifications:<br/>- One year experience in law enforcement, security, or related experience.<br/>- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in interpersonal relations, customer service, oral communication, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution, and influence.<br/>- Working knowledge of and skill in word processing PC applications.<br/>- High school diploma; or equivalent related experience<br/>- Completion of Basic Healthcare Security course by Hawaii Chapter of International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS), valid Hawaii Security Guard license, or related police officer academy coursework and training.<br/>- Current Adult Heartsaver AED CPR or Adult CPR/AED certification (must obtain within 6 months of hire.)<br/>- Valid driver's license.]]></description>
