Manager Lean Consulting Services Honolulu, HI

Develops and implements vision and strategies for optimizing organizational performance through the development of a Lean network to support strategically focused Lean improvement processes in alignment with the organization's business strategies and the overall development of a Lean based management system. Leads and directs Regional consulting services which promote Lean management systems, the development of Lean competencies and facilitate system and process improvements to achieve superior clinical, service and business outcomes. Supervises assigned staff.

Essential Functions:

- Oversee the development and distribution of standard Lean tools and methods. Supports organization-wide Lean education and promotes strategies
- Oversee project coordination support for the assessment, planning and design work necessary for Lean process improvement, system development and implementation
- Develop and implement vision and strategies for optimizing organizational performance through the development of a Lean network to support targeted Lean improvement processes. Drive systematic Lean supported improvements in business and care delivery processes. Explicitly support the organization's business plan priorities and strategy deployment with applied expertise in Lean and systems thinking
- Influence leaders and managers to develop Lean competencies. Sponsor, support and implement technology and process improvement strategies that will improve the quality, affordability and accessibility of our services to patients and employer group
- Partner with key leaders across the Region to support patient centered care through the execution of the Quality Division work plan
- Provide leadership, direction and support for staff, including optimal development and utilization of human and financial resources. Promote staff satisfaction and professional development through effective leadership and communication
- Hires, trains, supervises, counsels, disciplines, and terminates assigned staff as appropriate
- Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in organizational change
- Two years of management experience
- Successful experience in project management, management consulting, systems implementation in a healthcare environment
- bachelor's degree in Business/Health Administration, Organization Development, Project Management or related field with demonstrated experience in process improvement technologies and methods or equivalent related experience
- Expert knowledge of business process and rapid cycle improvement, including Lean, change management, systems thinking and quality management skills
- Excellent skills in communication and customer service, financial and human resource management
- Demonstrated leadership effectiveness, ability to challenge established ways and lead change
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and be influential across structures and roles
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and trends
- Demonstrated success working with medical staff

Preferred Qualifications:
- Eight years of progressively responsible experience in large scale organizational change, including utilization of Lean
- Four years in a healthcare environment with successful experience in project management, management consulting, systems implementation
- masters degree in Business/Health Administration, Organization Development, Project Management or related field
- Six Sigma Certification or related TQM/process improvement technology
