Nurse Practitioner II (110520) Santa Clara, CA

Essential Functions:
- Surgical assisting required, including making rounds on admitted patients (inpatients) in the hospital, or taking calls.
- This position willhave a minimum of 50% in the Operating Room.
- Provide direct care to patients in the Orthopedics Department including: new patient screening for routine and urgent consultation, drop-in visits of regular patients, pre-operative history and
physicals, and post-operative examinations.
- Evaluation, treatment, and follow-up of common acute musculoskeletal injuries, usually restricted to extremities.
- Provide patient education and counseling.
- Give advice to patients.
- Provide treatment per approved protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited FNP or Acute CareNurse Practitioner Program.
- Must have a UPIN or be UPIN eligible which requires a Master's Degree in Nursing and current National Certification from one of the following organizations: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; American Nurses Credentialing Center; National Certification Corporation for Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties; National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses.
- Must have a Nat'l Provider Identifier (NPI, or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date.
- Furnishing license required.
- Current California RNP license required.
- BCLS certification required.
- RN first assist required.
- Minimum of 1 yr w/in the past 3 yrs as an NP working w/ ortho pts required.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a consistently high quality of service to patients, visitors and staff at all times.
- Experience in intra-articular and soft tissue injection preferred.
- Good oral and written English skills required.
- Ability and training to do physical assessment, take histories, assess and treat acute and chronic illnesses, assess lab results, and provide health education to patients.
- Must demonstrate ability to work well under pressure.
- Must demonstrate a service-oriented philosophy.
- Must demonstrate courteous behavior in all interactions and maintaincourteous relationships with patients and staff.
- Must be flexible and willing to work with schedule and hours, to meet the needs of the department including availability for weekend calls and night calls.

- Hours must be flexible to meet clinic and OR starting times. In the future, schedule may change to meet the needs of our members, this includes shift changes and possible weekend or evening rotations, and possible beeper call.
